Have no fear, I purchased 22,000 gold (paid via PayPal) and received it in game without a hitch. I was in Dalaran, got a whisper/invite from a level 1 character to join group. After accepting I was asked to come to Stormwind bank. At the bank I met the contant, was given 12,000 gold through the trade window, then was given the additional 10,000 gold from another character.
