How to Choose Professions
Since TBC expansion, each profession can make epic items or gears for the players that can only use by themselves. So choose the proper trade skill can provide very good improvement. The followings are the improvement you can get by each profession.
| Mining: | Increase 300 HP |
| Skinning: | Increase Crit Chance by 15 Points. Crit Chance is an important attribute for Rogue. And Skinning can support Leatherworking with materials. This is a pretty good choice. |
| Herbalism: | Regenerate 1200 HP within 5 sec, 3 minutes cooldown. |
The above three collection skills can only increase basic attributes. Comparing with trade skills collection skills really don't offer too many bonuses. The purpose of choosing collection skill is not for gear improvement, it's just for making more gold.
Alchemy:
After 3.0 patch, you can only drink one mana portion or healing portion during the fight. 20% Attributes improvement doesn't mean too much for Druid.
Enchanting:
Enchanting has been considered as a trade skill that can make lots of money. Now you can enchant ring for yourself.
Engineering:
Goggles with different styles are the most useful stuff made by Engineering. A high quality goggle can improve your gear level a lot at early game stage. Along with more Epic gears at end game stage, the importance of Engineering will be decreased. Engineering can also produce stuff with special functions. This profession can improve your overall ability.
Inscription:
Inscription is now available in patch 3.0. Similar to Enchanting, this is also a trade skill can make money. Inscription is a very good choice for Restoration and Balance Druid. But it's not good enough comparing with Leatherworking
Jewelcrafting:
This is a very good skill that can make money and improve your gears. Gems and trinkets that made for Jewelcrafters are also very useful for Druid. Like other skills than can making money, Jewlrycrafting has limitation to improve the basic attributes, but somehow better than Enchanting and Inscription. Jewlrycarfting can also make money quicker than any other professions. Therefore, this Profession is recommended for Paladin.
Blacksmithing:
Blacksmithing doesn't do any good for Druid
Leatherworking:
Druid is wearing Leather Armor, there different talents have different gears attributes. Comparing with Rogue, Druid can get much more improvement from Leatherworking. Especially after WLK expansion, leatherworking has unique Enchanting for Wristwrap. If you are a PVPer, you can use Drum to improve the total damage of your group in Instance or Raid. For Druid, Leatherworking is the best choice.
Tailoring:
Tailoring can not do any good for Paladin. No Paladin will learn this profession.
